Wright will set a winning spirit in the players as Kilmarnock manager

The new manager has made a promise to make the team function better with the help of Fowler.

Tommy Wright

will try to push up

Kilmarnock

as the club's new manager.

On the matter of career skill development, he said:

"It didn't go the way I wanted obviously because of Covid. I had planned a few trips to clubs abroad and a couple of Premier League clubs to help with my development as a coach,"

The new manager has started afresh as he claims, and is "ready to go".

He has promised to organize Kilmarnock and set a winning spirit in the minds of the players.

He said:

"What Kilmarnock will get is a team that is organised, that wants to play good football, play high-tempo football, and that's what wins football matches. And I want to get a winning mentality into the squad."

He also claimed that he is familiar with the League and the "types of players" which can help him set the team to function and perform better.

He added:

"And the added benefit is I have got James (Fowler) to help me with recruitment, because recruitment at St Johnstone was solely down to me, there was no infrastructure for me to fall back on and have that support. So that's going to be a good thing for me to relieve the pressure."

Kilmarnock sit in 10th place of the Scottish Premiership table and have lost all of the last five matches.
