Gosens admits something is not working at Atalanta
Atalanta left-back Robin Gosens says something is not working at his side and admits they threw three points away after changing a 3-0 lead with a draw against Torino.
It was an extraordinary game in Bergamo, as
Torinolooked doomed when 3-0 down within 21 minutes, but fought back for a 3-3 thriller against
Atalanta.
“We had almost won the game, it’s a bad sign,”
the German admitted in an interview with Sky Sport
.
“We can’t throw victories away if we want to qualify for the Champions League. But it happened and it means something is not working.
“I don’t think it depends on tiredness because we are all fit. I think there were different factors, including too many distractions.”
La Dea will face
Napoliin the return leg of the Coppa Italia semi-finals on Wednesday after picking up a goalless draw at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona last week.
“It’s not going to be an easy game, 0-0 is a tricky result. We dominated the first leg and it won’t be easy to repeat ourselves.
“That’s why I can’t say we are the favorites. The Coppa Italia offers us the quickest path to win something, if we beat Napoli we’ll qualify for the final.
“Serie A and Champions League are longer and more difficult, if we qualify, we’ll be aiming to win the Coppa Italia.”
