Mustafi will go on a loan spell to Schalke to boost their defense area

Arsenal Wishes that the 28-year-old have a nice time as a Schalke player.

Shkodran Mustafi

will go on a loan spell to

Schalke 04

. The loan contract expires at the end of the season.

After the January transfer window,

Arsenal

seems to be shaped as

Arteta

has wanted it to.

Mesut Ozil

was one of the most expected move-outs of the club. He joined Fenerbahce.

Sokratis Papastathopoulos

joined Olympiakos as a free agent,

Sead Kolsainac

,

William Saliba

, and

Matt Smith

headed out on a loan deal and

Matt Macey

joined Hibernian.

Mustafi's move was an expected action before the January window closes. Although

Liverpool

were planning to sign a defender and Mustafi was considered a possible option to this move, Klopp focused on other players such as Ozan Kabak and Ben Davies.

Arteta talked about the left moves on the deadline day and said:

“We have decided [who could leave today] and we are working on it.

“You will find out before 11 pm. I cannot speak about any individual players. What we want to do, the conversations we've had, the various reasons - let's see if we can get something done tonight."

He then added his opinion about Mustafi and said:

"Musti has been a key player for us for a long period of time. He played a very important part in my first season as manager and I’d like to thank him for his professionalism and for always being ready when called upon. Everybody at Arsenal wishes Musti well at Schalke.”

Schalke with 8 points gained stands at the bottom of the Bundesliga table, which shows their need to sign the 28-year-old to boost the team's defensive area.
