This last-minute transfer market activity from the Biancocelesti for a central defender is the result of
Luiz Felipe
’s recent injury. He was forced to have surgery on his ankle which will keep him out of action for the next few months at best.
Todibo, who signed for Barcelona back in January 2019 following his contract expiry with French Ligue 1 side Toulouse, has failed to live up to expectations.
In an attempt to continue his impressive development, the young French defender was loaned out for a short spell with Schalke before joining Benfica at the start of the 2020-21 season, also on loan.
Yet he failed to impress after he has just played twice this season and looks to be on another move again.
