Yengi keeps finding the target for the Adelaide United

Adelaide United forward continues to impress his side once again scoring a header resulting in a 2-0 victory against Western Sydney Wanderers.

Kusini Yengi

met the target for the fifth time in four matches ready to carry his sparkling start into the

A-League

2020-21.

The 21-year-old forward was impressed by the team’s ploy implementation and stated that he is satisfied with finding the target again.

It was a really good game,

” Yengi said.

I think everyone did well as a team, we worked really hard and pushed ourselves to our limits.

“It was good to get on the scoresheet again, just get myself into the box and I’m lucky that I’ve got good teammates that find me

.”

According to Yengi, playing against an A-League team has provided them with insight on the squad’s stand and improvement requirements.

All our previous pre-season games have been against NPL teams,

” he said.

It was nice to play against an A-League team and test where we are really at so far this season

.”

Yengi’s talismanic performance in the clash against Wanderers heading Ben Halloran’s pinpoint cross along with Nathan Konstandopoulos’s goal has assured them a victory.

I was quite happy, I feel like I’m getting better every game,

” Yengi revealed.

I’m getting more minutes into my legs, gaining fitness and I’m just trying to improve.

Last season, the 21-year-old has appeared in three A-League matches for the Young Reds before moving to the senior team. Notwithstanding the injuries he sustained earlier in his career, Yengi believes those injuries are far behind him.

The last two years I’ve been quite unlucky with injuries and little things that have popped up and prevented me from playing,

” he continued.

But now I’m fit and healthy and I’m looking forward to working hard this season and cementing my place in the team

.”
