Zaha is ruled out after a positive COVID-19 test
Michy Batshuayi will take the 29-year-old’s place.
With his result turning out positive,
Zaha
did not feature for
Crystal Palacein the competition with the Clarets.
The Eagles mounted the table at Turf Moor, but Zaha was excluded from the squad.
“
He has tested positive unfortunately for coronavirus so is self-isolating, and is awaiting the results of the next test,
" Hodgson said. "
He is not feeling particularly ill, but unfortunately the test proved [positive], and he is following the procedures.
"
Until recovery from the virus, Zaha will not appear in the Palace. The Eagles are entering a busy part of the
Premier Leagueas well as all the other sides. Palace is the 9th on the table courtesy of Zaha’s brilliant performance scoring five goals and two assists. The Crystal Palace forward has not appeared on national duty either. His absence is going to affect the Eagles and Hodgson is leaning his hope on the rest of the squad.
Michy Batshuayi
will benefit from filling Zaha’s place up in the match against Burnley. The 27-year-old has yet to build a record this term, however. It is a really important game for him as he is on loan from
Chelseaand registering some goals may trigger his permanent transfer.
