Paulinho is out of ACL due to thigh injury

The Brazilian captain is a key player for Guangzhou as the club is preparing to participate in AFC Champions League games but he won’t travel to Qatar due to his unlucky injury. Guangzhou finished the Chinese Super League in second place and are now hoping to show their quality in the upcoming matches of the continental club championship. Fabio Cannavaro’s team will begin their ACL journey by playing against South Korean side

Suwon Samsung Bluewings

on November 22. Guangzhou will also face Japanese side

and Malaysian team

Johor Darul Ta'zim

in Group G. The tight schedule of the matches requires more squad depth for the clubs but with this new injury, Cannavaro must find a way to deal with Paulinho’s absence.
