Kimmich will be out until January due to knee injury

Bayern Munchen star has had a successful surgery on his knee and is expected to come back in January.

Joshua Kimmich

was injured in a careless challenge with

Erling Haaland

during his team’s Saturday Der Klassiker clash against

Dortmund

. The midfielder was helped to walk out the pitch and was later diagnosed with a right lateral meniscus injury.

Bayern

boss Hansi Flick stated after the match that not having Kimmich in his squad would be a ‘big miss’ but lucky for him and his team, Bayern officials has declared that Kimmich’s injury will keep him out of action only until January. Sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic was asked about the latest update on the 25-year-old.

 "We are happy that Joshua will probably be available to us again in a few weeks.

"We will give him the best possible support during his rehab."

Kimmich is a key player for Bayern’s midfield as he has completed 89/8 percent of his Bundesliga passes and managed to assist 6 goals and create 12 chances so far.
