Guardiola gives an update on the players status
Pep Guardiola talks about the players available to perform in City's clash with Arteta's side.
Pep Guardiola
gives an update about the physical state of the two
Manchester Cityplayers,
Ilkay Gundoganand
Nathan Ake, who were unable to play for City due to injury.
Suffering a groin strain, Gundogan missed the
match against Everton.
Ake was also sidelined because of a muscle injury since December 26.
Guardiola said:
“Nathan is back in training on the pitch alone and is closer to coming back.
“And Gundo had part of training session - we’ll see tomorrow how the rest of them are.”
Other City key players such as
Phil Fodenand
Kevin Du Bruyneare also considered to be options in the man City XI against Arsenal.
De Bruyne was out for four weeks having picked a hamstring injury but was a part of the squad and came to the pitch as a late substitution.
Foden was also set to play as a midfielder, which Guardiola approves of and believes that Foden just needs to improve his playing skills. He said:
“He can play in both positions. I said many times he is so young. just needs time to improve playing inside.
"When you play as a winger you have to play at one tempo and when you play inside you have to play in another one.
“When he gets this balance, he will be 10 times more extraordinary as a player. It's just a question of time.”
Other players like
John Stonesand
Oleksandr Zinchenkocan be available for the next match as they took a rest for the match.
Sergio Aguerois also likely to be on the bench until his physical fitness is fully back.
