Al Zamalek Books Its Qualification Ticket to the Confederation Cup Final!

A stunning hat-trick leads them to the top in the Ghanaian Dreams battle

On a night full of excitement and adrenaline, the Egyptian team Al Zamalek managed to qualify for the final of the African Confederation Cup after achieving a resounding victory at the Dreams Stadium in Ghana. With this big win of three goals to none, the Egyptian team shone and excelled in achieving the victory that came with varied efforts and team harmony on the pitch.

At the beginning of the match, Dreams team’s attempts to control the game and score goals were apparent, but Al Zamalek’s goalkeeper Mohamed Awad refused to let their attempts bear fruit, and brilliantly repelled their powerful shots. On the other hand, Al Zamalek’s player Saif Al Jaziri wasted a clear goal opportunity after being alone with Dreams’ goal.

As time passed, Al Zamalek was able to control the game and score decisive goals, where the Tunisian Hamza El Mathlouthi opened the scoring for Al Zamalek in the twelfth minute after a skillful pass inside the penalty area. After that, the Beninese player Samson Akinola continued to score the second goal for Al Zamalek in the twenty-seventh minute after a pass from Mustafa Shalabi and skillfully shot it into the opponent’s goal.

After the Congolese referee, Jean-Jacques Ndala, and the Mauritanian observer, Sadio Diara, finished all the procedures related to the match, Nahda Berkane club players went down to the pitch, and the victory of the Moroccan team was announced as a result of the Algerian team’s apology for not participating in the match.

CAF considered Union of the Capital club a loser (3-0) in the first leg match that was held on their ground, due to the Algerian authorities’ detention of Nahda Berkane club’s jerseys, which contain a map of Morocco and which Algeria considers a violation of its laws.

Therefore, Nahda Berkane club faces Zamalek in the final match, which brings us back to a similar scenario to the final of the previous version of the championship in 2019, where the Egyptian team was crowned the title at that time.

It is scheduled that Nahda Berkane club will host Zamalek first on their ground in Morocco on Sunday, May 12, then they will visit Zamalek club in Egypt to be guests at Cairo Stadium on Sunday, May 19.
