Phil Foden has withdrawn from England squad due to an appendix removal

Foden played as a substitute in England's 2-1 victory against Italy last week. However, he will miss his country's Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine after being forced to undergo surgery.

Phil Foden came in as a substitute in England's 2-1 victory against Italy last week before he was sacrificed after Luke Shaw's late red card. However, England confirmed the Manchester City midfielder will miss their Euro 2024 qualifier against Ukraine after having his appendix removed.

An official tweet from the England account read:

"Phil Foden has been ruled out of today's EURO2024 qualifier with Ukraine following surgery to remove his appendix this morning. Get well soon, Phil."

Moreover, Man City has confirmed Foden will miss a number of matches after the international break, which will be a huge blow for the Citizens as the 22-year-old has scored nine Premier League goals this season in their close Arsenal chase in the Premier League.

A City statement said:

"He will not be fit for this weekend’s Premier League game at home to Liverpool and it is unclear at this stage how long he will be unavailable for."
