Graham Potter confirms the injury of Mason Mount and his withdrawal from the England squad

Mason Mount, who was selected for the 25-man England squad by Gareth Southgate, has been forced to withdraw from the team due to an injury the day after the announcement

Mason Mount will be absent from the England squad for their upcoming Euro 2024 qualifiers against Italy and Ukraine, as he will not join the team due to a pubic bone injury. The injury will also cause him to miss his club's Premier League match against Everton.

Chelsea's head coach Graham Potter confirmed the news during a press conference on Friday, adding that

Mount

's injury would keep him out of international duty, despite being named in Gareth Southgate's squad on Thursday.

"He wasn't 100 per cent the last game,"

Potter said.

"He is still not quite there, so he will miss the England camp as well."

Despite featuring in 32 games this season, Mason Mount has only managed to contribute to six goals, scoring three times and providing three assists.

As a result, there are reports suggesting that Liverpool and Manchester United are keeping an eye on the situation as contract talks between Mount and

Chelsea

have stalled, with the potential for a move at the end of the season.
