Champion Hurdle Destiny Awaits Constitution Hill

The Cheltenham Festival's Champion Hurdle is one of the highlights on the jump racing calendar, and in 2023 a new star of the sport is set to fulfill his destiny in the 2-mile contest.

The Cheltenham Festival's Champion Hurdle is one of the highlights on the jump racing calendar, and in 2023 a new star of the sport is set to fulfill his destiny in the 2-mile contest.

Constitution Hill is a horse that has fans of the racing world transfixed. He is a powerhouse of equine excellence, possessing a so far unrivaled mix of speed, stamina, and jumping ability.

Some are questioning the levels of hype he has created, but he is likely to deliver on that when he takes to the track on day one of the Cheltenham Festival in 2023.

Why The Hype About Constitution Hill?

Well, simply put, Constitution Hill is an awesome specimen. Fans tune in in their droves when he is in action, and although he may not be popular with those

due to his short price of 1/3, supporters will still be cheering him on around the famous English track. For those bettors backing the Champion Hurdle favorite,

Paddy Power horse racing

is offering many special bets on Constitution Hill, including what distance the star hurdler will win by.

The Rise Of Constitution Hill

He may now be the horse on everyone's lips, but Constitution Hill was not always thought of as a future champion. His legendary trainer, Nicky Henderson, even questioned whether he even had a racehorse when Constitution Hill entered his stable yard for the first time.

He has been described by the veteran trainer as sometimes being too laid back or even lazy, but that all changed when he hit the training gallops for the first time. Henderson now knew he had something special on his hands, as Constitution Hill left his proven stablemates for dead.

On To The Track

Constitution Hill made his racecourse debut at Sandown in December 2021 and duly showed what was soon to come by thrashing his rivals by 14 lengths with minimal of fuss. A month later he returned to the same track for the first Grade 1 race of his career and again powered away from his rivals to win by 12 lengths.

Now it was time for the prodigious youngster to compete at the Cheltenham Festival for the first time, and it was in the Supreme Novices' Hurdle of that year that Constitution Hill really announced himself on the world stage by easily winning the Grade 1 contest by a whopping 22 lengths

as reported by The Guardian

.

It was a phenomenal performance, and after having his summer holiday, he has returned this season in arguably even better form, racking up another two Grade 1 wins, including the Fighting Fifth Hurdle,

as covered by the BBC

.

Champion Hurdler?

The question of whether Constitution Hill will be a Champion Hurdle winner by the time the curtain falls on the 2023 Cheltenham Festival is an easy one to answer. The only horse that is likely to beat him is Constitution Hill himself.

Barring a suddenly below-par effort, or a jumping mishap, the racing world is going to see the brilliant young hurdler fulfill his destiny at the home of jump racing.
