UEFA vice president believes Napoli plays better than Real Madrid
Sitting 13 points clear at top of the Serie A table, the Partenopei will face Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League round of 16 as Boniek backs them for a continental double.
It will be the first time since 1990 that
Napoli
wins the Scudetto if they continue to dominate Serie A this season.
UEFA vice-president Zibi Boniek told
Vikonos:
“I can see a team like Napoli doing very well in Europe, but don’t forget that Eintracht are tough to beat too. If Napoli can continue playing at their current level, they can go far.”
On Napoli’s chances of winning the Champions League, Boniek added: “Why shouldn’t they dream of winning the Champions League? I think Napoli play better football than Real Madrid. They win games by dominating, not with a defend and counter approach, and they have two excellent centre-backs too.”
Luciano Spalletti
earlier echoed the same words, saying:
"We have no doubts, we've decided to double down.
"We go and play the matches trying to do something for the love of the fans, for the people who were perhaps even today at home praying for us because they love us. We must be proud of that."
