Signal Iduna Park was ‘burning’ after Haller scored his first goal for Dortmund

World Cancer Day was made even more symbolic as Haller scored his first goal for Dortmund on his return from the cancer treatment

thinks Signal Iduna Park was “burning” following his maiden goal for Borussia Dotmund on World Cancer Day.

Haller, who joined from Ajax in the summer, couldn’t feature much for Dortmund since he had to undergo treatment for cancer. Having got ridden of the disease recently, Haller was able to make his debut for the club and today scored his first goal for BVB in their 5-1 thrashing of Freiburg.

The Ivorian international shared his celebration with

fans who were over the moon with happiness, seeing their striker back from treatment and scoring goals.

"Scoring my first goal means a lot to me,"

Haller told Sky.

"When I scored the goal, I felt that the whole stadium was burning. Not only the fans, but also the team-mates and the staff.

"I had been looking forward to this goal from the very first moment."

Dortmund is now level with Bayern Munich on points while the two giants hunt Union Berlin who sits at the top of the table with two points between them and Bayern.
