Bellingham rejects Chelsea's offer for the "erratic" transfer strategy
The Blues spent heavily this January as they were responsible for 37 percent of the Premier League's spending in January. Unimpressed by their transfer strategy, Bellingham has reportedly turned down the Blues' offer.
With
Enzo Fernandezbecoming
Chelsea's record signing with an eye-catching £106.8m fee, the Blues were interested in a summer deal for Borussia Dortmund's midfielder,
Jude Bellingham.
However, according to
SportBILD, Bellingham has rejected Chelsea's summer offer for their "seemingly erratic purchasing policy". With Paris Saint-Germain also out of the race to sign the English midfielder, Real Madrid and Liverpool remain frontrunners to sign the
Dortmund
midfielder this summer.
Fernandez, who won the Best Young Player award at the World Cup as he was crowned champions with Argentina, has been Chelsea’s No. 1 target in the transfer window. The Blues had reached an agreement with the players on the terms of his contract since the first week of January but the actual agreement with Benfica fell through a couple of times.
The deal was in danger even in its final hours as the structure to pay the massive release clause of £105m for the player was not agreed upon between the two clubs but Chelsea looks to have got the deal over the line in the end with official announcements coming soon.
