"I am going to give everything I have until I leave", says Simeone after Copa del Rey exit

Atletico Madrid Manager Diego Simeone says he is happy at this club and will give everything until the last day.

in the Copa del Rey quarter-finals at Santiago Bernabeu on Thursday.

Atletico is 13 points behind La Liga leaders Barcelona, and they were also eliminated from the Champions League in the group stage.

Simone

’s side will finish this season trophyless, but the Argentine coach insists he is happy at Atletico.

"I am enormously happy to be at Atletico,"

he said.

"[I have been] from the day I arrived. I am going to give everything I have until I leave.

"I will give myself a thousand per cent with this team and with the club. Now, I only have [it] in my head to work with joy and enthusiasm.

"I have done that from the day I arrived [and I will do so] until the day [that] I have to go. That will come some day [but not now].”

Atletico’s Stefan Savic was sent off in extra-time when the game was still 1-1.

After the match, Atletico Goalkeeper Jan Oblak claimed that the referees have been unfair to them.

"If it is a red for us, it should be a red for them too,"

he added.

"I think they should have had their second yellow card.

"It's been decided that way and we're used to it by now. Even so, we've fought to the end against everyone."
