Guardiola gives an update on De Bruyne’s absence from training
Pep Guardiola explained why KDB was absent from training while also giving an update on Dias and Stones injuries.
Pep Guardiola squatted any injury rumors away, as he explained that the reason behind
Kevin De Bruyne’s absence from training was “a personal issue” rather than an injury.
The Spanish tactician also gave an injury update on Manchester City’s center back pairing. While
Stoneshas only been out for the last two games,
Ruben Dias, who has sustained a hamstring injury, has been out since the World Cup.
“He [De Bruyne] had a personal issue and was not training (on Tuesday). Today he is back.”
Guardiola told reporters in his press conference before Thursday’s clash against Tottenham.
“They (Stones and Dias) are back. In the last two training sessions they have trained really well and they are in contention. We will train this afternoon. We will see the way we have to play and who is going to play.”
With Manchester City losing the Manchester Derby, their visit to Tottenham is a vital one as the Citizens are 8 points behind the league leaders Arsenal.
