Ousmane Dembele hopes to stay at Barcelona amidst PSG rumors
Having had a good season with Barcelona, Ousmane Dembele is happy to stay at the club for longer.
Dembele has revealed that he is “happy in Barcelona” even though he has been linked with a move away to PSG in France.
The 25-year-old has become once of Xavi’s most important players since he took over in November of 2021, having scored 8 goals and provided 20 assists ever since. This season
Dembelehas already scored 6 goals and recorded 7 assists before helping France reach the World Cup final.
The Frenchman addressed the rumors circulating about his potential move to PSG by saying:
"I signed a new contract at Barca four months ago and I'm happy here, I want to keep working and improving at Barcelona. I am good here, I am happy in Barcelona, I like my life here. The coach trusts me, and the board [trust me] too."
This seems to be a sentiment shared by
Barcapresident Joan Laporta despite only 18 months remaining on Dembele’s contract.
"If PSG come to sign him, we will tell them he is not for sale.”
Laporta told Sport outlet.
"He's one of the most important players that we have. He has extraordinary speed, he's a lightning bolt. Every time he gets the ball he upsets defences and yesterday [in the 4-3 Copa del Rey win against Intercity] he scored a great goal.
"He won't go for €70million euros or any amount."
