Arsenal closing on Juventus target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic
The Serbia international was one of Juventus' main targets throughout the past seasons. However, their financial scandal moved them out of the picture as Arsenal is reportedly leading the race for Milinkovic-Savic.
Joining
Lazio
from Genk in 2015, the Serbian midfielder established himself as one of the best midfielders in the Serie A being named Lazio player of the season for the last consecutive years.
Now according to the
Corriere dello Sport, the Gunners are leading the race for
Sergej Milinkovic-Savicas the outlet reports they had sent scouts for Lazio's clash against Verona in September.
Currently sitting at top of the Premier League table,
Arsenal
is expected to invest in the winter transfer market, especially with the injury of Gabriel Jesus that ruled him out of the season. They had a £55 million bid rejected for Shakhtar Donetsk's striker,
Mykhailo Mudryk.
The midfielder has pulled off impressive performances this season as the Serbian midfielder continued to impress under Maurizio Sarri, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 20 appearances. His current contract runs until 2024, hence, the Italian club is likely to cash in.
