Eriksen demands that United be worthy of winning silverware again

Eriksen wants to win silverware at United but admits that the players must work to deserve winning a piece of silverware

Christian Eriksen believes United players have to prove themselves deserving of silverware if they want to ever win one.

Eriksen

opened United’s account against Burnley where they won 2-0 in the EFL Cup on Wednesday as they hunt for that coveted silverware. The Danish playmaker talked to the talkSPORT ahead of United’s return to the Premier League, saying:

"It's been a few years since winning a trophy the last time. From where the club were to where we are now, the aim is to focus on every competition and see where we are in the end.

"It hasn't specifically been said that we have to win this or win that – all of the players just want to win as much as possible.

"But to get there we first need to prove that we deserve to be there. It's about every tournament. Like you saw against Burnley, even the [EFL Cup] is important for us."

United

will face third-tier Charlton Athletic in the EFL Cup as well as facing Everton in the FA Cup. Their toughest competition to win besides the Premier League would be the Europa League since they have to face off with Barcelona.
