With a goal from En-Nesyri, Morocco sealed a 1-0 victory over Portugal as they became the first African side to reach the World Cup semi-finals. Fiorentina's Amrabat admits it's beyond his dreams to play in the World Cup semi-finals.
After proving to be the wild card of the tournament, eliminating Belgium and Spain,
Moroccoshocked Qatar 2022 again as they secured a 1-0 victory over
Portugal. They made another record as they became the first African side present in this stage of the World Cup.
Fiorentina midfielder
Sofyan Amrabat
says it's an impossible dream, he told
NOS:
“We were not even playing our best football today, but the team spirit is incredible and we conceded zero goals in the tournament. Well, only an own goal.
“It was definitely a deserved victory, especially as Portugal had an easy match in the last round, whereas we had to play 120 minutes and go through penalties. My legs were heavy at the start, I could barely move towards the end, but that’s the World Cup, it’s tough.”
