Fabrizio Romano: "Bryan Gil is still Valencia's priority target"

The Spanish midfielder joined Tottenham last summer from Sevilla but failed to win the trust of Antonio Conte as he is at a point in his football career where he needs the opportunity to play more than anything. Reportedly, the La Liga side is monitoring his situation for this January.

After a €25m move to

Tottenham

from Sevilla, the Spanish wonderkid failed to perform up to expectations. Currently in Valencia on loan from Tottenham, the 21-year-old midfielder has made 13 La Liga appearances for the team.

Bryan Gil

spent last season on loan at Valencia and performed well for his country. With the presence of Gennaro Gattuso on the

Valencia

bench, the Italian head coach is trying to make a specific and different impact on the team. He plans to recruit players who are thirsty and hard-working, and Gil is one of these players.

Talking to

Caught Offside

, Fabrizio Romano explained about Bryan Gil's situation:

“He could only leave if a replacement will be signed, this was the case in August with Valencia move and it’s still the same. Too early to say where and if will happen.”

Gil left

Sevilla

and joined Tottenham in the summer of 2021. He failed to live up to expectations in North London and made only 20 appearances for the Premier League club, registering just one assist during that time. Under the guidance of Conte, he will not get many opportunities.
