Cristiano Ronaldo misses training amidst Portugal injury crisis

CR7 missed Portugal’s training session on Wednesday, adding another injury concern to Santos’ worries

After losing crucial wing back, Nuno Mendes to injury, there are now doubts over Cristiano Ronaldo’s fitness ahead of Portugal’s last group stage game against South Korea.

The 37-year-old Cristiano didn’t train with Portugal’s team on Wednesday as the former Manchester United striker seemed to be training on his own with a pre-determined training routine. Whether he makes an appearance against Korea remains to be seen but looking at his tendencies, it is unlikely of him to miss a game at a World Cup.

Ronaldo

whose departure from Manchester united has made quite the ruckus in the last month, has reportedly been offered a lucrative contract at Saudi Arabian Al Nassr with him earning €200 million a year.

However, the

Portugal

camp seem to be focused on the tournament instead of Ronaldo’s next destination but Fernando Santos’ side has been hit with injuries even before the World Cup began. The likes of Diogo Jota have missed the tournament entirely and now it is being reported that Nuno Mendes will be out for 2 months. It seems that the PSG defender will remain with Portugal until the end of the tournament with PSG medical staff flying to Qatar to check on him.
