Nagelsmann disappointed about the Champions League draw

Bayern Manager feels that his team’s perfect record in the group stage was “not rewarded”

Julian Nagelsmann seemed to be a bit disappointed by Bayern Munich’s tricky draw in the Round of 16 of Champions League. The

Bavarian giants

had to face PSG in what is deemed to be the toughest draw for both teams at this stage.

Bayern managed to win all of their group stage matches, which is a rare thing in the Champions League history, and alongside Inter they qualified over Spanish giants, Barcelona. They also set a record by winning all their group-stage matches consecutively in two seasons which is also a first in UCL history.

However, the draw does not fact in the points and it seems it provided one of the toughest opponents for Bayern in

PSG

which would be a repeat of 2019-20

UCL

final.

"PSG are a difficult opponent.”

commented Nagelsmann following the ceremony.

"The perfect group phase is not rewarded with [drawing that opponent] - they have a lot of world-class players just like we do.

"But this is the Champions League, so it's normal that there are no easy opponents in the round of 16."

Oliver Kahn was excited about the match and talked about the quality of the players both teams possess. Talking to Sky Sports, Kahn claimed:

"We can look forward to two great games with the best players in Europe. I think these will be two highly attractive games."
