Italiano's proud of Fiorentina's upfront after 3-0 victory over RFS

Fiorentina achieved a precious 3-0 away Conference League victory over RFS as goals from Barak, Cabral, and Saponara provided the visitors a moral boost. The Viola boss is impressed by his side's performance as he confirms tactical changes in the attack.

Despite Viola's strong showdown at Riga against

RFS

, it wasn't enough to send Fiorentina top of Istanbul Basaksehir thanks to the Turkish side's head-to-head record. However, Fiore’s boss,

Vincenzo Italiano

, was impressed with his side’s attacking performance as they secured a moral boosting 3-0 victory thanks to goals from Antonin Barak, Arthur Cabral, and Riccardo Saponara.

Italiano told

Sky Sport Italia

:

“We did what we needed to, trying to make Basaksehir feel a little less comfortable in top spot.

“It was an excellent first half, I am also happy with the performance from the younger players after the break like Bianco and Di Stefano. This is how we prepared it and it worked well.”

On the

1-1 reverse fixture

at the Stadio Franchi, the Italian coach added:

“We are trying to move differently from usual, as the striker tended to have his back to goal, now we aim more to run into space. We are trying to do something new and it is paying off.

“Victories are also good for confidence, we wanted this win so we could go back to Florence pumped up. It will allow us to prepare for the Sampdoria game in the right way, as we now have to start putting more points on the board in Serie A too.”
