Isco set to mess the Betis-Sevilla derby due to suspension
The former Real Madrid star’s suspension adds to Sevilla’s woes ahead of the important derby against Real Betis.
Unlike the past several seasons, the Andalusians have been having a tough time in La Liga with their 1-0 defeat against Rayo Vallecano last weekend, putting them well into the relegation zone. Their bitter rivals have seemingly had reverse fortunes as they are now amongst La Liga’s top 4.
To further compound matters, it seems that Sevilla has just lost one of their star players,
Isco, due to suspension. The former
Real Madridstar picked up his 5th booking of the season and will be suspended for the El Gran Derbi against Betis.
Jorge Sampaoli who only took helm at
Sevillarecently will also be waiting on the fitness results for both Fernando Reges and Youssef En-Nesyri who were injured and missed the Rayo Vallecano match.
Despite promising start to Sampaoli’s reign, the Argentine has only managed to secure two wins for Sevilla since he took over and only one of those wins have come in la Liga (against Mallorca) which puts him in an awkward position going into the derby.
