Breaking: Arsenal Loanee Pablo Mari got stabbed in a supermarket near Milan

Mari couldn’t live up to expectations as he managed to make only 22 appearances for the Gunners and headed Monza on loan last summer. The Serie A defender got reportedly stabbed in a supermarket near Milan.

La7

and AGI

both reported that a 46-year-old Italian man took a knife from the shelves and randomly stabbed people in the store as

Monza

and Arsenal defender,

Pablo Mari

was among the five who got stabbed in the torso during the incident.

The cashier is reportedly stabbed while the aggressor has been arrested by the authorities as they ruled out the incident having terrorist essence. The Spanish defender is reportedly conscious as Monza CEO Adriano Galiani and the head coach, Raffaele Palladino will be by his side at the hospital.

Pablo Mari joined

Arsenal

on loan from Flamengo in January 2020 before making the move permanent next summer for €6m. Despite being Arteta's first signing as Arsenal manager in January 2020, the arrival of Ben White in the summer of 2021 moved Mari down the pecking order.

He spent the second half of the last season on loan at

Udinese

as well before making a loan move to Monza last season with a compulsory purchase clause of £5.9m if the newly-promoted Serie A side can avoid relegation.
