Liverpool’s Klopp provides update on Jota injury

The Liverpool boss revealed that Diogo Jota will be unavailable for their next battle against West Ham as he was sent out of the game with Manchester City due to an injury.

Diogo Jota

displayed a remarkable performance for Liverpool in their 1-0 victory over Manchester City but he had to be stretchered off due to an injury he sustained. The Reds’ forward was seen going down clutching his leg, before leaving the pitch and being replaced by Kostas Tsimikas.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Jurgen Klopp revealed that the Portuguese would not play in their clash against West Ham midweek:

"We miss the next one with Diogo. He felt real pain in that moment but I have no idea how bad it is."

The club manager is worries about the way Jota left the game against the Premier League champions and he added:

"If Diogo stays down it is not good."

The next clash for Klopp’s side comes on Wednesday when they lock horns with West Ham at Anfield. Not only will Jota miss the battle because of his injury, but the club manager will also have to watch the match from afar. For his protests, the German tactician was sent off in their encounter with City and he admitted that he got ‘carried away’ during that moment, when Bernardo Silva challenged Mohamed Salah.
