Asamoah announces retirement after representing Juventus and Inter
The former Inter and Juventus fullback has decided to put an end to his career after a decorative career that made him the African player with the most appearances in Serie A history.
Most recently playing for
Cagliariin the last season, Asamoah confirmed he has officially put an end to his playing career as he plans to become a player agent at the age of 33.
The former
Juventusand Udinese ace joined Cagliari last January as a free agent on a short-term deal which lasts until the end of the season. Injuries shadowed his time at Cagliari as the 74-times capped Ghana international decided to put an end to his playing career.
has made 270 Serie A appearances over his long spell at Italian football, including 134 games for Udinese between 2008 and 2012. He joined Juve from
Udinesein July 2012 and won 13 titles across six seasons with the Turin giants. He played two years for the Milanese giants, Inter before eventually joining Cagliari as a free agent.
He represented
Ghana
in the 2008 and 2010 editions of the Africa Cup of Nations, winning a bronze and a silver medal in the respective tournaments. He also appeared for Ghana at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
