Frank Leboeuf questions Trent Alexander-Arnold's defensive ability
Former Chelsea great Frank Leboeuf has praised Trent Alexander-Arnold defensive abilities, calling them "Championship level."

Trent Alexander-Arnold, has been called "one of the best in the world," yet his defensive abilities have been called into question by certain experts. Leboeuf adds his voice to those who say the
England
international needs to improve in that area of his game.
"Look at Trent Alexander-Arnold. I love the guy, his offensive qualities. But defensively, he's Championship level,"
he said in an interview with Journal du Dimanche.
"Only Klopp's system works for him. When it doesn't work as well as it has this season, all you see is his defensive shortcomings. I want to take him with me to work on the basics. I would say to him: 'Turn your head and look behind you, it will be better already'. It was Roberto Carlos who deformed generations of defenders."
The 23-year-defensive old's prowess may determine whether or not he starts at right back for England at the World Cup later this year. Reece James, a star for
Chelsea
, and Kyle Walker, a standout for
Manchester City
, are also candidates. On Monday, the fullback may make his England debut as the Three Lions face Germany in the Nations League.
