Arsenal boss praised club for their effort to expand women's football

Emirates Stadium will host 50,000 fans for the match between Arsenal and Tottenham in the Women's Super League, which will set a historic record.

On the eve of setting a historical record in women's football,

Arsenal

head coach Jonas Eidevall praised the club's efforts to expand and improve women's football.

50,000 fans are expected to watch the north London derby between Arsenal and

Tottenham

at the Emirates Stadium, with the WSL looking to continue their success after England's recent Euro 2022 title win. The record for the largest number of fans in the Euro Championship matches - men's and women's - was set at Wembley during the final on July 31, when England managed to defeat Germany in extra time. Now the gunners are trying to set another record in Emirates and Eidevall praised the performance of the club.

He said:

"It's 50,000 sold tickets. They're not giveaways, they're not discounted, they're sold tickets. I think that's really special, because that means the interest there, it is for real.

"The investment the team has done, but also all the past generations to take us to this stage here, that is phenomenal. We want to make the most of it tomorrow, so it can happen more freely."

Arsenal have won their only game of the season in the WSL and are at the top of the table with a high goal difference.
