Lecce in talk with Barcelona over Samuel Umtiti

The French centre-back is not going to find game time at Camp Nou very easily this season. The Catalans penned deals with Jules Kounde and Andreas Christensen this summer to strengthen the already stable centre-back that has Gerard Pique, Ronald Araujo and Eric Garcia. Therefore, departing the club is the right choice for him.
The 28-year-old needs fresh impetus. He made a move to Barcelona in 2016 from Lyon and pulled off impressive performances in the first two years, even contributing to the 2018 World Cup victory with France.
However, his performances were affected by injuries after that year and he has rarely played for Barcelona during that period. When he is fit, he lives higher that the expectations, so he is hoping to rediscover his form in Italy.
