Juventus to hijack Napoli plans with shock Giovanni Simeone move

Juventus is prepared to hijack Napoli's move for Giovanni Simeone.

Italian press on Thursday reported that Hellas Verona has reached an agreement with

Napoli

over the transfer of

Giovanni Simeone

on loan for €3m with an option to buy for a further €12m.

But now Sky Sport Italia claims that

Juventus

want to hijack Napoli’s move for Simeone and sign the striker. Juventus after failing to buy Alvaro Morata from Atletico Madrid permanently is looking to sign a striker as a backup for Dusan Vlahovic.

The 27-year-old Simeone missed the pre-season friendlies because he was promised by Verona that they would let him leave if the right offer came along. Simeone joined Hellas Verona from Cagliari last summer on a season-long loan deal and Verona brought him permanently last month with a four-year contract.

Argentina international scored 17 goals and provided six assists in 35 Serie A games last season. Monza and Borussia Dortmund have also been linked with Diego Simeone's eldest son this summer. Arsenal was also interested in him

but he wants to continue his career in Serie A and the Champions League.
