RB Leipzig increasingly confident of re-signing Chelsea striker

Sky in Germany says that RB Leipzig is getting more and more confident that they can reach a deal with Chelsea to get Timo Werner back.

The two clubs are talking "at full speed," and the

Bundesliga

club is looking at all options, whether a loan or a permanent deal.

The 26-year-old moved to

Chelsea

from

Leipzig

two years ago, but he hasn't been able to score goals as he did before, which is why the Blues used his £45m release clause. Werner is said to want to move because he wants to play more games so that he can start for Germany at the World Cup in November, which will be led by Hansi Flick.

It is also said that his relationship with Chelsea manager

Thomas Tuchel

is a problem, but it is thought that Tuchel won't let the forward leave. Sky in Italy says that if they can't get Alvaro Morata, their main target, they are also interested in Werner.

Domenico Tedesco, the head coach of RB Leipzig, didn't want to say anything about a possible Werner deal before Saturday's German Super Cup final.
