Espanyol will fight to keep Raul de Tomas

The Spanish star plans to play in the Champions League next season.

Espanyol

is planning to fight to keep their attacking line star

Raul de Tomas

.

De Tomas had a very good performance in La Liga last season and managed to score 17 goals in the league, so many clubs are interested in him. He hopes to be at a club playing in the Champions League next season, and as such, he may receive offers to leave Espanyol.

Recent reports suggested that

Bayern Munich

wanted to sign De Tomas as a replacement for the Polish striker after the departure of Robert Lewandowski. De Tomas' release clause is 75 million euros, of which 20 percent of his sale price will go to his former club, Benfica. Despite the rumours, Espanyol president Domingo Catoira  claimed the club would fight to keep the Spanish star.

He told Mundo Deportivo:

“His

performances in these last two years have led us to achieve important goals.

“He’s always in the rumour mill, but the reality is there have been no offers for him.”
