PSG's Winjaldum set to join Roma

The Dutch midfielder is close to making a move to the Giallorossi after negotiations with the Ligue 1 side have been going the right direction.

Paris Saint-Germain

wanted to sell

Georginio Wijnaldum

earlier this summer since they began a new project with Luis Campos and Christophe Galtier, although he only joined the PSG last year when he hit free agency.

According to reports from

La Gazzetta dello Sport

, the Dutch player is close to making a move to

Roma

on a loan deal now, with an option to buy included in the contract. The two sides are now in talks over how his €9m per season salary can be paid.

Dan Friedkin and Nasser Al-Khelaifi have a strong relationship and it has affected the negotiations and they are positive.

The Giallorossi are eager to build a strong project and Jose Mourinho thinks Wijnaldum would be a great addition to his squad which already has Paulo Dybala, Tammy Abraham and Lorenzo Pellegrini. They are determined to end the Serie A season sitting in the top four on the table.
