Barca confirms Trincao joins Sporting on loan with a purchase option

The Barca winger joined Sporting CP on a season-long loan with an option to buy. Trincao spent the last season on loan with the Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, scoring three goals across 30 appearances.

Barca

has confirmed Trincao will spend the upcoming season back in his homeland with Sporting, who finished second in Primeira Liga last term. The loan deal includes an option to buy. The news of Trincao’s switch to Lisbon comes after

Barca confirmed they signed the Brazil winger Raphinha

from Leeds United. Ousmane Dembele has also reportedly agreed to stay at Barca, signing a new contract with the Blaugrana.

Having made 7 appearances for Portugal national team,

Francisco Trincao

stepped out of Braga academy to join the Spanish giants, Barcelona, in January 2020 for €31 million. Trincao made 42 appearances for Barcelona last season and scored three goals for the Spanish side, however, the 21-year-old recently left Barca to join the Premier League’s

Wolverhampton

on a loan deal the next season, falling out of the manager’s favor.

The Portuguese had joined the Wolves on a loan deal with an option to buy for €30 million which the Premier League side opted against, leaving the winger out in the marketplace with Barca willing to offload the player. Sevilla and Valencia have been linked with Trincao but the Portuguese himself opted for a move to his homeland.
