Bale delighted for the “incredible reception” at LAFC

Los Angeles FC introduced Gareth Bale to the fans for the first time since he made a move to MLS and it did not disappoint.

Los Angeles FC

following his move to the MLS.

player joined the MLS leaders on a contract that will keep him for a year, but he may extend it until 2024. The Wales international is keen on receiving a lot of game time before the World Cup in Qatar, with the Dragons having their first appearance at the final of the competition since 1958.

Bale went to California on Friday and the fans were delighted to see him before their El Trafico derby against

LA Galaxy

.

LAFC won the battle 3-2 and the 32-year-old is eager to do his best at his new club.

"What an incredible reception I had when I came in,"

he told ESPN.

"The best prep [for the World Cup] is to play games.

"I want to come here. I want to play games and make my stamp and do as best I can to try and help LAFC win a trophy.

"And I can help with the youngsters because it's a very young team here, give them advice, seeing what I do in terms of professional standard and try to help them.

"The league is a growing league. It was an exciting opportunity I felt was right for me and my family.

"It's very new, but it's something that's really glamorous. It's just a very attractive club."
