Lisandro Martinez became Man Utd priority for defense

The Argentine defender is one of the favorite players of the Manchester United manager.

New

Manchester United

manager Erik Ten Hag has told the club that

Lisandro Martinez

will be his first priority for the defense.

The Red Devils and Arsenal are the most serious clients of the 24-year-old Argentine defender, who signed for

Ajax

in 2019 by Ten Hag. Arsenal have been trying to sign Martinez for a long time and have made several offers, the latest of which was for € 40 million.

Ajax are awaiting a € 50 million offer and United have yet to make a move. The Dutch champions are hoping that their demands will be met, given the clubs that want to sign the Argentine star.

After Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia, Ten Haag intends to strengthen Manchester United's defense, a line that has been extremely vulnerable in recent seasons. But the other player that Manchester United are looking to sign is Christian Eriksen, whose contract with Brentford has expired and he has not yet decided whether to activate the extension clause.
