Lucas Paqueta

was flying a kite when he hurt his finger. He will need surgery to keep it from getting worse in the future. The 24-year-old posted about the injury on her Instagram Story and said, "Remember that even kids' games can hurt you.

"Today, when I went flying a kite, I cut my finger. Everything is fine, but I'll have a small surgery tomorrow to make sure I don't have any trouble moving in the future." Paqueta is one of many players who have been hurt in a strange way off the field.

In recent years, football players have been hurt in ways that aren't normal.

Mark Shelton

, a midfielder for

Hartlepool

, went to the hospital earlier this year because he felt lost after putting a cotton bud too far into his ear.

Frenkie de Jong, a midfielder for

Barcelona

, had to play a game with a bandage on his hand after getting stung by a bee. This is not an unusual problem for top-level athletes. Years ago,

Rio Ferdinand

tore tendons in his knee while playing a PlayStation game, and Chris Smalling had to go to the hospital after being stung by a jellyfish in Indonesia.
