Chiellini is close to join MLS side Los Angeles FC
Juventus defender Giorgio Chiellini will continue his career in the United States.
has announced he will finish his near-two-decade spell in Turin at the end of the season.
He has admitted he is curious to try his fortunes abroad and now the Goal website claims he is close to joining
Los Angeles FCas a free player.
According to this report, negotiations are advanced and Chiellini's move should be finalized next week.
“I honestly don’t know,"
Chiellini stated after his final home game for Juventus when asked about where he could go next.
"I need to face an important decision. An experience abroad enriches you just on a cultural level even more than on the field.
"I feel the need for an experience and to face a different culture outside of this life at Juventus that I know so much. I will decide with my family soon. I am well aware that I clipped the wings of some youngsters at Juventus.
"So it’s time for them to fly and I will be cheering them on. I now leave a Juventus side in good hands with talented young players who are ready to get going.”
The 37 year old Chiellini joined
Juventusfrom Roma in 2004. He has won nine Serie A titles and five Coppa Italia titles. He also won the Euro 2020 with Italy.
Juventus fans in 2017 voted Chiellini in their team’s all-time Best XI.
