Boateng: Kane would be a great replacement for Lewandowski at Bayern

According to a former defender for the Bundesliga club, the club should put the captain of England on their buying list in case they have to replace their experienced forward.

Jerome Boateng

, a former player for

Bayern Munich

, says that if

Robert Lewandowski

leaves the team this summer, they should try to sign

Harry Kane

. The veteran striker is trying to force his way out of Allianz Arena. The Poland international is most likely going to move to

Barcelona

.

Bayern has said that they don't want to sell their star player, but if they have to, Boateng thinks they should go for the Tottenham and

England

forward instead. "Personally, I would try to get Harry Kane for Bayern right away,"

Boateng told Sky Sports Germany when asked who he would like to replace the veteran striker if he leaves the club this summer. "This is what I think. I think this striker is perfect. He scores goals every day for Tottenham, which is a very good but not world-class team.

"If he plays for a team like Bayern, I think he would be a great replacement at a great age for football. It all depends on Bayern Munich." The ex-Bayern player also said something about why the Polish star wanted to leave, adding: "I didn't find it strange. Because of the change, you could sort of seeing it.

"It makes sense for a player like him to want to try something new at some point. We all think and go through such things. I think you can agree with both sides without making a big deal out of it. It's hard, but now that summer break is over, we have enough time to find a solution that works for everyone."

"It's important that in the end, everyone is happy. Robert would like to leave as it is, in the summer. Bayern is currently saying, "No. That makes sense, but they have a lot of time over the summer to make sure they get new ones. This has also happened to some other players.

"Thiago wanted to go, too, so it was a possibility. It would be nice to find a way for both Lewy and Bayern to be successful in the future. The most important thing is that."
