Nedved on why Juve did not offer Dybala an extension deal

Pavel Nedved talks about the reason behind the Bianconeri not offering Paul Pogba a new deal and backs Dusan Vlahovic’s form before their battle against Inter in the Coppa Italia Final.

Inter

and

Juventus

will lock horns in the final of the Coppa Italia.

“The coach decides by watching the training sessions who is in the best shape,”

vice-president

Pavel Nedved

told Sport Mediaset.

Max Allegri admitted in a press conference before the encounter that winning this game will not be a cherry on the cake for Juve, but it will be the whole cake.

“I agree, because let’s say we have achieved Champions League qualification pretty easily and are very happy. This is the second target, reaching the Final, and clearly we want to get back to winning more in the near future.”

Dusan Vlahovic has been struggling lately and has not been producing goals as well as he was at Fiorentina before joining in January.

“Don’t forget the lad started very, very strong, he scored important goals, everyone was enthusiastic. I don’t think it’s just the weight of the shirt, but also fatigue, as he worked very hard in the first half of the season with Fiorentina and naturally is physically tired.

“He is doing well and we are very happy with him.”

Dybala is in the starting XI against a team that he may join in the future, with the player’s contract expiring on June 30. Inter are eyeing a move for the player.

Nedved was quizzed what was the reason behind the negotiations breaking down.

“We evaluated the player in all areas, what he gives us on and off the field, looking at the contribution 360 degrees. Obviously, his requests were very high, as is fair because he’s a great player, we didn’t feel prepared to do that, so it’s only right that we go our separate ways. That does not mean he’s not a great player.”

Giorgio Chiellini is going to depart when the season ends and may either retire or take up a new challenge in MLS.

“He is an icon, not just of Juventus, but of Italian football. The choice is his, we are open to everything and wish him all the best.”
