Jorginho: if Rudiger leaves Chelsea, we'll miss him

Following the death of Spanish football journalist Alvaro Montero, Jorginho has admitted that Chelsea will "miss" Antonio Rudiger.

After failing to reach an agreement on a new contract,

Chelsea

manager

Thomas Tuchel

stated on Sunday that the center-back will depart the club this summer.

The 29-year-current old's deal with the club expires at the end of the season, and he now appears to be on his way to

Real Madrid

on a free transfer. According to Montero, who spoke to

Sky Sports News

, "When I asked someone within Real Madrid yesterday, he burst out laughing and said, 'Yes, it's a done deal.'

"Things can change, but the player and the club have an agreement. I assume he was already a Real Madrid player when he scored at the Bernabeu [for Chelsea in the Champions League this month]. Rudiger has been a significant part of Chelsea's recent success, winning five titles with the club, including the Champions League last season.

Jorginho

, a Chelsea teammate, believes the German would be a significant loss to the club if he left at the conclusion of the season. "He's been here a long time, so if he leaves, we'll miss him," the Italian told Sky Sports News.

He has a strong personality and has been quite helpful to us. We've had a lot of fun here; he's a good friend of mine, and everyone at the club, including myself, would miss him if he departs."

The 30-year-old laughed when asked what he will miss most about Rudiger: "His insanity. He makes me laugh a lot; the wonderful part is that we've shared all of his jokes and chuckles together."
