Morata discussed failed Barca move and potential future destination

Alvaro Morata, the Juventus forward, has said that Massimiliano Allegri convinced him to stick with the club in January and that he is ready to accept whatever the future has for him.

Morata's two-year loan at

Juventus

ends in the summer, and the Old Lady is hesitant to spend €35 million to make the forward's loan permanent after paying €20 million for his temporary transfer. The

Serie A

heavyweights will make

Atletico

a reduced offer, but the Colchoneros are hesitant to trade him permanently for a lower price.

In January, Morata was in negotiations with Barcelona, but Allegri persuaded him to remain at the Allianz Stadium

.

“There were many options, I spoke to the coach because I was going through something that I had already experienced in other clubs,” Morata told Men’s Health Espana.

“I am not a physical striker, I need space to run and he [Allegri] told me that Juventus were about to sign a new centre forward [Dusan Vlahovic] so I would have played as a support striker and they closed all doors.”

Morata has stated often that he wants to stay in Turin, but he understands that his destiny is not just dependent on him. Despite a dismal first term at Chelsea between 2017 and 2019, he has become one of Arsenal's goals for next season, according to publications in Italy and Spain, and the 29-year-old has not ruled out a return to England.

“Luckily, my wife and my sons are prepared to think about my happiness,” Morata said.

“The only thing they want is to see my happy. Alice [his wife] supports me in every decision I’ll make. I have good options and as long as I am with them, I could go everywhere, even to the moon.
