Man Utd prepared to talk with David de Gea over a long-term deal

The Red Devils are eager to negotiate with David de Gea about his long-term future at the club, as per reports from 90min.

David de Gea

’s deal at

Manchester United

is due to expire in 18 months but no extension option is included in his contract.

The goalkeeper is among the best well-paid keepers in the world and has been running on a rich vein of form in the last year or so.

The Spain international revealed on the club’s website in December that he plans to stay for a long time and based on reports from

90min

, the Red Devils are prepared to sit with him and his representatives to discuss the matter.

"

Hopefully, there are more years to come and more trophies to come,"

De Gea said at the time.

"More good moments to live. So what can I say? I’m massively proud of what I did for this club and to play for this badge. It’s amazing. I feel maybe in one of the best shapes of my career. I feel very well.

"Maybe some people think I’m older because I’ve been in the game for many, many years but I am still young for a goalkeeper. I’m still learning every day, giving 100 percent in training, so like I say, hopefully, there are more years and more games to come."

United are looking for a contract extension that will take the shot-stopper through to the end of his career.

Any new contract will spell the end for

Dean Henderson

as the 24-year-old thinks he needs to depart the club to gain more game time, either on loan or on a permanent deal.

Henderson was close to his desire last month when

Newcastle

made an offer for him. However, their offer was not accepted and even their suggestion to add Martin Dubravka to the contract did not get it done.
