The 22-year-old defender had a clash at the end of the first half and was in pain after the incident, and now the club has announced that the player is struggling with a twisted ankle, but they haven’t cleared out his return date.
They tweeted
, “Alessandro Bastoni was substituted in the 45th minute of the first half due to twisting his right ankle.”
The 22-year-old jumped in an air fight and landed in a wrong position ending up with a twisted ankle, and it wasn’t the young defender’s first injury in recent months as he missed Italy’s clash against Switzerland with a muscle injury in November.
In a situation that Inter has been suffering from a lack of high-quality players, any injuries in the squad can cause them serious problems, and Bastoni’s injury can be bad news.
