Martinez welcomes Everton return after 2022 WC

Once again, Martinez wants to be at Goodison Park and lead the Toffees.

Belgium

coach Roberto Martinez welcomes the return of

Everton

and the replacement of Rafa Benitez.

Martinez led Everton between 2013 and 2016. However, after receiving an offer from the Belgian national team, he took charge of the team and now intends to mange the team in the 2022 World Cup, and his return to Everton is unlikely to take place before the winter competition.

After the separation of Carlo Ancelotti, Martinez was the first choice of the Everton board, but Farhad Moshiri finally decided to enter into negotiations with Benitez.

The 48-year-old is still very interested in Everton and working at Goodison Park. In his first season with the team, he finished fifth in the Premier League, but in the second season, he finished 11th and was sacked by the club.

After six months at the club, Benitez was eventually fired after a 2-1 defeat to Norwich. Since September, the Toffees have won just one Premier League game, finishing 16th in the table, six points behind the relegation zone.
