Everton eyeing Martinez, Rooney and Potter for managerial role
Everton are eyeing Roberto Martinez, Wayne Rooney and Graham Potter as their main target for their managerial role after Rafa Benitez left the club, as per reports from 90min.
Rafa Benitez
was dismissed after their embarrassing 2-1 loss at the hands of
Norwich Cityin the
Premier League. The Spaniard had been under a lot of pressure in the past few weeks, and he departed the club as
Evertonsit 16th in the Premier League table.

reported that Benitez would part ways with Everton on Saturday and the club has also confirmed his departure.
After that, three names were released as Everton’s main targets for the managerial position at the club. One of them is
Roberto Martinez
, who is managing Belgium at the moment. He previously managed Everton from 2013 to 2016.
Another candidate is Derby manager
Wayne Rooney
, who also has a history with the Toffees. He is a product of the club’s academy before his move to Manchester United and then coming back for a less successful spell in 2017.
He started his managerial career on the right foot at Pride Park.
The last name on Everton’s wish list is
Graham Potter
. The Brighton boss has attracted the attention of Premier League sides before, with Tottenham previously keen on signing with him.
Duncan Ferguson
will be the caretaker manager until the matters at Goodison Park are solved.
If they fail to acquire a manager, he may be asked to oversee the team until the summer or even be handed the permanent role if successful.
